1. The Guidance Note on Audit of Banks, brought out by the Auditing & Assurance Standards Board (AASB) of the ICAI is an important publication providing comprehensive guidance to the members carrying out audits of banks and bank branches. Improving the quality of audit of banks is one of the prime objectives of the Guidance Note. The last edition of the Guidance Note was brought out in March 2013. 2. The Board has constituted a group of experts to thoroughly revise the said publication and bring out its 2014 edition. As a part of its initiatives to involve a cross section of stakeholders/ users of the work of the auditors, the Board takes this opportunity to request all the interested readers, including readers other than ICAI’s members, to kindly send their suggestions on issues that the Board may consider in improving further coverage, the audit guidance, or any other aspect of the Guidance Note.

3. Interested readers can send their suggestions to aasbsecretariat@icai.in. The last date for sending the suggestions is 15th September 2013.

Revised - Guidance Note on Report u/s 92E of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (Transfer Pricing)

ICAI has released the 4th Edition of the Guidance Note on Report under Section 92E of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (Transfer Pricing). This Guidance Note was previously revised in February, 2013. However no form was prescribed for reporting specified domestic transactions u/s 92BA.

Now, rules relating to Transfer Pricing Provisions & reporting Form no. 3CEB has been amended by Income Tax (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2013. Part-C to Form no. 3CEB has also been inserted by this rule. Further, from Financial Year 2013-14, Form no. 3CEB is required to be filed through e-filing before the due date.

In view of above substantial reporting amendments, this Guidance Note is again revised (Amendments made till 26/07/2013 have been considered) to incorporate this changes & to provide guidance to members for their reporting responsibility.

I am sure that this revised edition of the Guidance Note will be immensely useful to the members in discharging their responsibilities.

For your benefit, the complete text of the Guidance Note along with its Appendices is available on ICAI website at URL: http://220.227.161.86/29526citax19183a.pdf.

Complete text of the Guidance Note and its annexures can be downloaded free of cost from this URL.
